Chester Raccoon

I love the Chester Raccoon books by Audrey Penn. I know The Kissing Hand is a wonderful book to share in the beginning of the year to help ease nervous feelings in our new students. However, I LOVE using it during my nocturnal animals study later in the fall. This is a perfect time of year to study forest animals. I have already eaten too much candy! My 5 year old had many opportunities to dress up. She loves Strawberry Shortcake. She wanted to be the one character that has no costume, Plum Pudding. We improvised and here are the results.

Now since halloween is finished and we are moving to Thanksgiving, we are using one of our decorative pumpkins (non-carved) to do a little science experiment. I found this on Pinterest. I hope it works!
