Math Facts

I used these games when I taught second grade. I often needed to work with other students who needed further instruction, while others had the toic mastered. I printed them on cardstock and laminated them. I had a central location where students could go to find the manipulatives they needed. The game boards and instructions were stored in a basket labeled Math Facts.

Learning to Be a Scientist

Science is one of my favorite subjects. Lizzy and I began our Science Journal this week. A science journal is a great way to teach writing skills. I am using this book to guide my little scientist.

This week, we learned that scientists observe, watch closely. She watched a small plot of yard. The drawing of the insects, rocks, dirt, and grass was absolutely adorable. We learned insects have 6 legs and 3 body parts and that spiders only have 2 body parts and 8 legs. We also talked about capitals and periods when she wrote a sentence telling what she saw. SOOOO much fun!

We also observed what dries faster, painting with water in the shade or painting with water in the sun. Of course, her hypothesis was correct!

Word Familiy Sorts

Inspired by teachers on TPT, I have created my own products. My 5 year old daughter loves fun learning. These were a big hit! I made sure to include as few digraphs as possible to insure success. Ceck them out at my TPT store.

My First Teaching Blog

I have become a member of the Pinterest community. I pinned a lot of blogs and websites on my boards. I found some wonderful resources. Pinterest has inspired me to create my own blog. Some of the blogs I have visited have Teachers Pay Teachers accounts. They offer items for sale and some are free. This inspired me to create my own products for sale. I am combining the two on this blog.

Bare with me. I know there isn't much offered here, yet, but be sure to come back often and visit. I will be posting my activities as I teach my daughter at home.
